The location could not have been better.
Finding the hotel was incredibly frustrating due to the lack of signage. After checking in at the nearby Cleveland house, we were left confused about the breakfast options. The shower in our room was small, making it uncomfortable for both my husband and me.

Charming historical spot with delightful antique furnishings. The location was perfect—just a stone's throw from everything! Free parking was a lovely bonus, too.
Our bathroom was so small it felt like a ship's cabin—no room to swing a cat. And the air conditioner? It was louder than my dear aunt at a tea party!

The staff was incredibly friendly and provided excellent recommendations. Our top floor room had rustic charm, with pitched ceilings and plenty of space. The breakfast was delightful, with cooked-to-order options that left us satisfied.
Nothing.

A Hidden Gem with Character
I enjoyed my two-night stay in a cozy Standard King Room. The charming historic decor and attentive staff made my visit truly delightful. The breakfast options were a treat—each morning started off great with made-to-order meals. For future guests, cozy up with an evening drink on the porch.

disappointing experience with major safety concerns
The historic decor offered a charming vibe that made the place unique. But the breakfast options had customizations available, adding a personal touch I really appreciated. I also enjoyed exploring the nearby historic neighborhood, which had so many fascinating stories to discover.
The room I was moved to raised serious safety concerns.

The decor around the Admiral Farragut Inn captures a charming historic vibe, really highlighting Newport’s revolutionary roots. The service stood out. Rick, the innkeeper, was incredibly accommodating. He went out of his way to ensure our comfort, even arranging for us to stay at another nearby property when our room was full. The Wynstone Inn where we ended up was beautiful and just a short stroll from downtown. The breakfast options were delicious and made to order, a highlight of my mornings there. I savored every bite! However, the room cleanliness left something to be desired. I noticed blood stains on the pillow case and, although the fireplace was advertised, it didn’t function. The management seemed overly strict about having breakfast in the room. I felt like they were more concerned about potential mess than guest comfort. A bit of flexibility would have gone a long way. Additionally, the other property we were moved to had some safety concerns, like missing smoke detectors. All in all, the charm and service were high, but cleanliness and communication could definitely see improvement.
